Foundation Entry Requirements
Foundation Years are available to students who don’t meet the academic requirements for entry directly onto year 1 of a Bachelor degree.
Undergraduate Entry Requirements
Academic Qualifications
- An overall average of 60 – 65% or above in the 12th Standard depending on which Board you have studied
- Advanced entry to certain undergraduate degree programmes may be possible for students who hold a UK HND or India Diploma in a relevant subject
Postgraduate Entry Requirements
Academic Qualifications
- An overall average of 3 Year degree (B.COM, BBA, B.SC, BCA etc.) at 60% (or CGPA of 6.0/10) from a recognised Indian university for entry to a relevant postgraduate programme.
- An overall average of 4- or 5-Year degrees (B.E, BTECH, B PHARM, B. ARCH etc.) at 55% (or CGPA of 5.8/10) from a recognised Indian university for entry to a relevant postgraduate programme.
- 50% (or CGPA 5.5/10) minimum from the following Indian universities: University of Mumbai, University of Delhi, University of Pune, Jadavpur University or University of Calcutta
English Qualifications
Proficiency in English is essential for study at the University. The University of South Wales recognise the following English language qualifications:
- HSC (12th standard) English at 65-70% or above, depending on which Board you have studied
- IELTS 6.0 overall with at least 5.5 in each band or equivalent (some courses require higher IELTS – please refer to relevant course page on website)
- USW English test (known as the Password test) – this is a free English test that can be completed in India. Please email india@southwales.ac.uk for further details.
- We also accept alternative English tests.
