Foundation Entry Requirements
Foundation Years are available to students who don’t meet the academic requirements for entry directly onto year 1 of a Bachelor degree.
Undergraduate Entry Requirements
- Students who have passed the Baccalaureat Technique or Diplôme Universitaire de Technologie with grades of 12 or above will be considered for entry onto undergraduate programmes.
- Applicants who have followed the IB Diploma curriculum can be considered for undergraduate entry – the normal UCAS tariff will be applied
- Applicants who have followed the A-Level curriculum can be considered for undergraduate entry – the normal UCAS tariff will be applied
Undergraduate Advanced Entry
- Applicants with a Diploma of Technical Licence / Licence Technique can be considered for advanced entry onto year 2 or 3 of a Bachelor degree depending on the modules studied

Postgraduate Entry Requirements
- Applicants who hold a 3 or 4 year Bachelor degree / Licence / Maîtrise with a minimum of 12 (from a French institute) or above 70% / Grade C from the American University of Beirut / Beirut Arab University
- Diplôme de Technicien Supérieur will be considered for entry onto a revalent postgraduate programme of study.
- Applicants with other relevant qualifications or work experience may be considered on a case by case basis.
English Language Entry Requirements
Proficiency in English is essential for undergraduate and postgraduate study. The University of South Wales also recognises the following English language qualifications:
- GCSE/O Level English at grade C or above
- IELTS with an overall score of 6.0 with at least a 5.5 in each component.
Please note that some courses may require a higher level of English language proficiency than the University’s standard requirements. Please see the course page for further information.
